Jennifer Whitlock is known as Sussex's County's foremost expert in transgender issues. She has been a gender specialist for more than five years. During this time, she has seen more than 50 individuals for individual and group counseling, and has written letters to recommend clients for hormone therapy or surgery. While she is a cis female (her gender identity matches her body) she has educated herself through the TransHealth Conference, extensive reading and consulting Dr. Lisa O'Connor, a local hormone doctor. She is also an ally to transgender friends and family.
This year, she presented two workshops on transgender issues at the 12th Annual LGBTQA College Leadership Conference at William Paterson University, November 1, 2013.

The Upper Delaware GLBT Center sponsors youth groups, arts and cultural programs, rides to protest marches and other services in Newton, NJ and Milford,PA.
The Institute for Personal Growth, which has locations in Jersey City, Highland Park and Freehold, NJ, provides a comprehensive Transgender Resource Guide which lists 60 pages of resources, including Advocacy, Crossgender supplies, Electrolysis, Legal Services, Support Groups, and Vocal Coaching.
TransYouth Family Allies helped my sister make her daughter's transition into full-time girl smoother by answering my sister's questions and providing inservices for the school.
Dr. Lisa O'Connor is a New Jersey doctor who specializes in Hormone Replacement Treatment for gender variant individuals. Her website lists numerous resources for transgender issues.
The Standards of Care describes the criteria doctors generally require patients to meet in order to be considered for Hormone Replacement Therapy or Sex Reassignment Surgery.
