Group therapy can help create authentic connections, reduce isolation and heal social wounds.
Hurtful social situations can create problems. For example, rejection and abuse can give the message that
there’s something wrong with us, and cause us to isolate or act fake so people might accept us. On the other hand, a group of accepting,
understanding individuals can provide a corrective experience so we can accept
our imperfections, express our true selves and connect.
I am an advanced student in psychodrama at the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute, and I use action methods such as warm-up games and role plays as well as discussions. See my psychodrama link to find out more about the method.
I am currently leading a group called Shout Out!!!, a self expression group for teenagers
that meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
Participants use theater games, story telling, "show 'n' tell" and creative arts to express themselves, share who they are and address issues.
November 1, 2011 I am introducing Shout Out!!! for Parents of Teens, which will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
See below for more information.

I start groups custom-tailored to fit my clients' needs. In the past, I have led groups for divorced adults, teenage girls, and Transgender Individuals, young adults and adults approaching midlife.
If you are interested in participating in a group, contact me. If I'm not currently running one that fits your needs, I will take your contact information, and start a group when I have enough people who seem compatible with you.
